Our department believes that scientific and research activities are absolutely vital since they have a very positive impact on the quality of teaching and improve the job prospects of our graduates.
Undoubtedly, they also raise our prestige within the Czech Republic and abroad.
Our research staff work in teams in several well-equipped laboratories and they regularly publish their findings in prestigious international journals. They also receive government grants and present their findings at universities and conferences abroad. They participate in field activities in various parts of the world (see the map).
Katedra geologie je moderním pracovištěm Přírodovědecké fakulty Univerzity Palackého v Olomouci, které zajišťuje akreditované univerzitní studium v geologických a environmentálních oborech.
